Race ClassWhat: Race class is for skiers who already race but who want to improve through technique work and interval sessions. Interval sessions will be run in conjunction with graduates from last year’s race class on Wednesday mornings, and technique work on Thursday afternoons will focus on skating unless there is sufficient interest among the participants in classic technique. Other race-relevant topics such as transitions, downhills, pacing, and recovery will be covered. Who: The class is open to racers who competed in local races last year. In order to keep the level somewhat consistent among participants, you must have placed in the top half of the field (independent of age or gender) in at least one of these races: any Wednesday night race, the Pole Mountain Shuffle 15K, or the Cowboy Chase 10K skate or classic. Please contact Sarah Konrad at skonrad1@gmail.com to sign up or check if you are qualified. The class will be limited to 6 participants on a first ask, first accepted basis. If you are interested but do not meet the criteria, feel free to contact Sarah anyhow: you may still get in if the 6 spots do not fill under the criteria. Schedule: December 2009 and January 2010: Wednesday interval sessions with advanced class (8:30-10:30 AM), Thursday technique sessions (3:00- 5:00 PM). We won’t meet on all these days because of either Wednesday night races or coach’s travel commitments. Exact schedule will be posted later, but will include at least 10 sessions. Cost: $140/person
